Marilyn Murphy has twenty years experience practicing law exclusively in the area of divorce and family law. Her expertise is in division of complex marital property, including stock options, pension plans and business ownership interests. She also represents clients in custody matters and prepares prenuptial agreements. She has represented clients in international custody disputes and kidnappings, including filings with The Hague.
In addition to serving as a judge pro tem in Maricopa County Superior Court, Marilyn was selected state president of the Arizona Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the State of Arizona Bar Association, and was appointed to the Governor’s Commission on Family Domestic Violence.
Marilyn received her law degree from the University of Missouri. She has done post-graduate studies at Oxford University and mediation training at Harvard University.
Marilyn, her associates and staff, are ready to work for you with their “get it done” attitude. Respected by her clients and colleagues, Marilyn excels in both negotiation and litigation.
As a board member of the Arizona Epilepsy Foundation, she is an active fund raiser for the organization, sponsoring a team in the annual walkathon. She is an active member of the University of Kansas (undergraduate) alumni association and Alpha Chi Omega social sorority. Marilyn participates in swimming and biking, and is an avid sports fan.
